Bernie Sanders Enters 2020 Presidential Race

February 22, 2019

This week in the world of politics, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) officially jumped into the 2020 presidential race. The announcement made quite a splash, as Sanders’ campaign raised nearly $6 million in its first 24 hours. There were several Senate candidacy announcements across the country, while Secretary of State Mike Pompeo officially ruled out a run in Kansas. Some of the biggest news on the House front came from North Carolina, where the state election board voted to order a new election in the disputed 9th Congressional District, where no winner was declared in the 2018 midterms amid fraud allegations.

These stories and more in this week’s Race Rundown.
