Race Rundown: 08-10-18

August 10, 2018

It was a busy week in politics as states across the country held primaries in competitive races up and down the ballot. Nominees were determined in critical races in Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, and Kansas.

In Missouri, Republicans officially selected Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley to take on Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO). Republican John James won the primary in Michigan and will challenge Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI).

On the House side, Republican Troy Balderson (R-OH) won the special election in Ohio’s 12th Congressional District, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, but Democrat Danny O’Connor “has no plans to concede,” according to CNN.
