Why? Key Senate primaries took place this week in Indiana and West Virginia. Republicans avoided nominating inexperienced candidates and look poised to flip Democrat-held seats in November. According to Roll Call, nine of the top 10 most vulnerable senators are Democrats.
And on the House front, a huge infusion of cash from billionaire Sheldon Adelson is helping boost the efforts of the Congressional Leadership Fund, the group focused on preserving a GOP majority in the House.
