A new poll released this week showed Republican Senate candidates in a strong position in many states. Voters in states like Missouri, West Virginia, and North Dakota all indicated it’s time for “someone new” to represent them in Washington, D.C., and many indicated they disapproved of the job performance of their current senators. That’s good news for Republicans, particularly since President Trump won those states by large margins in 2016.
Primary contests are being decided in Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, and West Virginia next week. Candidates have already launched their last-minute ad buys, and they’re now in all-out voter contact mode during the final stretch.
The National Republican Congressional Committee announced plans this week to reserve fall ad time in critical House districts. The $60.2 million ad buy includes air time in Philadelphia ($7.8 million), Minneapolis ($6.4 million), and Las Vegas ($3.6 million).
