Race Rundown: 04-27-18

April 27, 2018

Just shy of six months from Election Day, the political world is buzzing with fundraising reports, polls, and endorsements.

In Arizona, Republican Martha McSally outraised Democrat Kyrsten Sinema in the first quarter of 2018, $3.4 million to $2.6 million. But while McSally battles it out in the GOP primary, Sinema is amassing an impressive cash-on-hand total.

In Florida, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce announced this week its endorsement of Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) in his bid to oust Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL). The announcement came with a six-figure TV ad buy aimed at boosting Scott in key markets.

On the House side, Republican Debbie Lesko defeated her Democrat rival in Arizona’s special election this week. Despite Democrats’ hopes, Lesko was able to keep the seat vacated by former Rep. Trent Franks in Republican hands.
