Race Rundown: 04-20-18

April 20, 2018

A series of new polls shows President Donald Trump’s approval rating up 4 points from January, according to the Washington Post/ABC News. That’s a positive trend for Republicans hoping to win in November. Further boosting GOP chances is a Gallup poll showing Americans are less likely to say they feel overtaxed than at any time since 2002.

On the Senate front, fundraising numbers flooded in this week as the April 15 reporting deadline came and went. Gov. Rick Scott (R-FL) went on air with his first TV ad of his Senate campaign, and President Trump endorsed Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) for Senate.

On the House side, Democrats raised more money than Republicans in the first three months of the year, but as AR Intel pointed out earlier this week, Republicans still raised more on average than Democrats.
