NBC News reported Wednesday that Democrats are outspending Republicans on TV in 12 of the 25 House districts in which the minority party has the best shot at unseating a Republican. According to their analysis, Republicans are outspending Democrats in nine other districts, while four of the districts have seen no money spent on TV ads by the campaigns or outside groups.
But a closer look at the numbers reveals that the Democrats’ spending advantage on TV advertising is not as significant as those numbers would make it seem.
